Colorado Stream Access Stakeholder Workshop
Colorado Stream Access Stakeholder Workshop
Tuesday, August 12, 2025 (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (MDT)
Description
About the Event
The Colorado Stream Access Coalition (Coalition) is a group of recreational advocates and members of the public seeking to secure and clarify the public’s ability to use the natural waters of the state for recreational purposes. Members of the coalition have sought judicial and/or legislative routes to obtain this clarity in the past. The Coalition reached out to the Colorado Water Congress (CWC) early in the process of proposing a potential new legislative initiative. They asked the CWC to help establish a facilitated forum for stakeholders to collectively develop a path forward that both protects property rights and water rights while providing access to the recreational use of rivers and streams.
Presentation topics will include the Introduced and Preamended versions of HB10-1188, People v. Emmert, 1983 Opinion from AG Duane Woodard, and the Landowners/Property Rights Owners Perspective.
This workshop will be held at the Colorado Water Congress conference room and there is an option for virtual attendance. So we can plan to ensure space for everyone, please register and let us know if you will be attending in person or virtually. If your plans change, please let us know by responding to your registration confirmation email and we will update your registration.
An email with the Zoom link will be sent out to all who register virtually. Expect to receive the link on Friday, August 8 and a reminder email with the link on Monday, August 11.
Join the conversation. Help shape the future of stream access in Colorado.
