Description

One of the many perks of being a POND member is learning from industry experts and change makers. Join POND for an exciting Day at the Capitol. This event will include access to an In-Person CWC State Affairs Committee Meeting; direct Q&A with CWC lobbyists; a tour of the Capitol; and access to observe House and Senate activities. Join us for this exciting and engaging opportunity.

Proposed Itinerary
 
8:00 – Attend State Affairs Committee at Colorado Water Congress (1580 Logan St., Suite 810) - parking option details in registration

8:40 – (Approximately) Retreat to CWC office during State Affairs voting (Suite 800)

9:00 – Q & A with Lobbyists in CWC Office re Legislative Process, Key Roles at Capitol. What to Expect
 
9:30 –  Move to Capitol, Convene on First Floor Rotunda area near brass railing 

10:00 – House and Senate Chambers, opening exercises. We will break into two groups and arrange for visit to chamber floor to observe debate and voting
 
10:30-45 (Approximately) – Tour Capitol Hearing rooms, etc. 

12:00 – Regroup for additional Q&A 

1:30 –  For those who wish to stay -- attend House Ag & Natural Resources Committee


If you intend to stay for the 1:30 Ag Committee, lunch will be on your own.  Lunch options are limited.  You can bring a lunch.  There is a lunch kiosk at the Capitol, but it is very limited and expensive.
