Senior Hydrogeologist

The Senior Hydrogeologist will be responsible for managing hydrogeology projects and staff. The employee will perform technical hydrogeological water resource work including water well design and construction observation, aquifer testing and analyses, groundwater monitoring studies, water accounting and operations, evaluation of lagging and return flow calculations, and writing technical memos and reports. The work may also include groundwater modeling, water quality evaluations, water rights analyses, and expert witness services.


Qualities Needed or Preferred: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Engineering (Master’s degree is preferred)
  • Registration as a Professional Geologist
  • Knowledge and experience with Colorado water rights
  • Knowledge and experience with Denver Basin groundwater aquifers and alluvial aquifers
  • Experience mentoring and managing junior staff
  • Experience managing field operations for drilling projects
  • Extremely proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Groundwater modeling experience preferred
  • Familiarity with ArcMap/ArcGIS desired
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Motivated and willing to work independently and with others
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to meet project deadlines

Compensation and Benefits: Job classification and salary will be based on experience level and qualifications.

  • Starting salary will range from $90,000 to $140,000 per year. Salary may vary depending on the experience of the applicant.
  • Eligible for an annual merit bonus.
